Covert Conditioning and the Control of PainBoston College A rationale for the covert conditioning (CC) approach to pain is given. The general procedure for behavioral analysis, selection and evaluation of CC procedures is presented. Application of the various CC procedures to the modification of pain behavior is described. Case studies are presented. Experimental results, thus far, warrant further research.
